Gaffney Parsons Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc - Village of Johnson Obituary

Larry George Stenlake, 73, of Bangor, PA, passed away on December 1st, at Easton Hospital.

Larry was born in Washington Twp., PA on April 10, 1945, a son of the late George and Alice (Pysher) Stenlake.

He was the loving and devoted husband of Beatrice (Duvo) Stenlake to whom he was married for 35 years. Larry was a graduate of Bangor Area High School class of 1966. Larry was a hard-working and very adept dairy farmer for many years. He loved his farmland and animals but sadly had to retire from that business when it became too difficult to farm in PA. He then took employment at Packaging Horizons in Tatamy PA, where he developed deep and lasting friendships with owners John and Rich and also his fellow co-workers. He worked there until his passing.

Larry was a kind, gentle, humble soul who had many friends whom he loved to tease. With an infectious laugh, he was often heard saying: “I'm behavin'!”. He had a penchant for trains in any way, shape or form, including his own extensive collection. Although he was fond of all animals, Larry had a special love for his cat, Midnight.

For his wife, family, and friends who loved him so, Larry's passing will leave a lasting void. Their loss is Heaven's gain.

In addition to his wife, Beatrice, Larry is survived by a brother, Charles Stenlake, nieces,
nephews, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM on Saturday, December 8th at Gaffney Parsons Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 4 Lillian Lane, "Village of Johnsonville", Bangor, PA. Family and friends are invited to call 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM on Saturday, December 8th at the funeral home. Burial will be held at the St. John's Cemetery, Bangor, PA. Online condolences may be offered at gaffneyparsons.com.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Center for Animal Health and Welfare, 1165 Island Park Rd, Easton, PA 18042 or to AWSOM, 3129 Godfrey Ridge Drive, Stroudsburg, PA 18360.
