i saw him often when he was married to Anita Bryant and they visited his son at Birmingham Southern College. He did a lot for that school and for Birmingham.

I have always been grateful to my biology class partner, Red Striplin, for taking the iniative, to chloroform our frog, pin him to the board and disect our subject. Regrettably, I never got to tell him.

I have very many fond memories of Larry and his support of the SELMA QUARTERBACK CLUB.It was my pleasure to have met him.I know he will be missed by friends and others that had the pleasure to meet him.My condolences to his family.

I met Mr. Striplin only last year while accompanying David on a visit but was impressed with his spirit and sense of humor. No doubt a great man who will be missed by many. My condolences to the family.

My son, William Truss, was in the 8th grade and at a basketball camp at Birmingham Southern when he had the honor of meeting Mr. Striplin. Mr. Striplin told him that even though he was not the best player there he had a love and desire for the game and if he continued to work hard it would play off in the long run. I am so thankful that He was able to meet his Great Grandson, Landon Rives. Landon was born with strawberry blonde hair just like his Great Grandfather, Larry Striplin. Larry was nicknamed "RED" during his high school and college basketball days because of his head full of strawberry blonde, red hair. He lit up like a Christmas Tree when he held Landon.
