I recall well watching in awe of Emo playing sports at Haw River High School. Only regret in moving on to Eastern Alamance High (Class of '64) was not being a Haw River Graduate like Emo.

Emo was a gifted athlete. His mother's brother was Carson "Mutt" "Red" Leach, who was an All-State high school football player and an All-Conference football player at Duke University and then drafted by the NFL's San Fran. '49'ers. Emo and I were teammates on Haw River High's successful football, basketball and baseball teams in the late '50's. He was a quiet, friendly fellow that everyone liked. Rest in Peace my friend.
