Larry A. Warfel

Larry A. Warfel, 68, of Elkhart, died at 5:38 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, at Elkhart General Hospital. He was born July 10, 1946, in Elkhart, to Warren W. and Lucille (Rieth) Warfel. On June 10, 1976, he married Sandy (Floerkey) Warfel. He is survived by his wife, Sandy Warfel of Elkhart; daughter Roxanna (Donald) Queen of Mount Holly, N.C.; son Jeremy Warfel of Osceola; granddaughter Savanna Queen; grandson Devin Queen; his mother, Lucille Warfel of Lake Havasu City, Ariz. and a sister, Patricia (Carlyle) Baumgartner of Ocala, Fla. Preceding him in death is his father, Warren Warfel. He first worked for Warfel Plumbing & Heating in Elkhart, then Lock Joint Tube in South Bend for 38 years before retiring Nov. 30, 2012. In 1965 he graduated from Elkhart High School. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Elkhart. He loved to fish and go to casinos and covered bridge festivals. He also loved watching and going to Cubs, Colts, Notre Dame and Bears games. Larry loved collecting Hot Wheels collectibles, HO series trains and old 45 and 33 records with oldies music. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St.,Goshen and one hour prior to the funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, at the funeral home.
