Not sure what to say?

Lars just checking in brother. The Lord is about to take many of us saved Jesus loving surfers home soon. You would be blown away how bad things have gotten here in this rotten world. I will always love you and fondly remember your flamboyant charming spirit both in the water and life on the land in Santa Cruz. Praise the Lord Tom (The Artist) Prendergast

Aloha Lars...We go way back brother. To the 70's in Santa Cruz. I met you from David Hoyle and for a time we surfed in the same group. I miss the surfing and miss my old friends like you. The Lord is coming soon and I am sure the surf in paradise will be epoch! RIP bro.

Thinking of you today Lars. I still travel in my truck with a Handstand Hansen business card. I always stumble upon it while rummaging around in the junk compartment. It always brings a smile and then followed with a sigh. I have been friends with you since you were 13 years old. Though you checked out early, I have a lifetime of memories of us.

When I moved to California in 2000 my friend and I went to Santa Cruz to take surf lessons with Lars. Lars and I ended up dating for a time. What a funny guy. We had such a great time traveling around portions of Northern California. He always had five surfboards and mopeds in the van. What a time! He fulfilled my dreams of California livin'. Thank you Lars.

Wow! I am shocked to hear! Lars was my first love at the age 16 so I am sure no one knows me . He was also the funnest boyfriend I ever had ! I used to drive to Saucilito with him in his mother's MGM , watch him surf , go to Berkeley and listen to his friends band while he waited his turn to play the drums .
I used to listen to his exuberant dreams of professional surfing , acting, and playing in a band. I am sad to say I didn't really believe it would happen . Now I am happy to hear he...

Lars, you were a funny and awesome neighbor to have around. Take care...

I will never forget Lars pulling a kid out of the water with 8-10 ft shore pound down at New Brighton one winter. He was a true waterman and Will forever be missed. Handstand Hansen....another east side ledgend.

It was allot of fun Lars. Miss you.
