Not sure what to say?

I am so very sorry to hear about Lars' passing. My father had such a deep respect for his seafaring knowledge. And Lars was gentleman enough to put up with my father, too. (you only catch fish when you light a cigar) We all trusted him and respected him, deeply. He will be remembered fondly by David Hughes' family. I am so sorry to be so late in these condolences to his family. Natalie.

I am still so sorry and sad Captain Lars passed away, as are Joseph and my friends. He is legend. His kindness in taking Jim's ashes to sea on the Samson is still spoken of. I trusted him with my life and those of my loved ones on the ocean. To his family and friends, we will always remember him, with love.

Lars was a professional and a gentlman, he will be missed by us all. I remember once, a few of us dropped into the coffee shop after working with some of the decorations in town. When we placed our orders we found that Lars had quietly paid for our coffees to thank us. He didn't always talk much, but when he did it was worth listening to. Our sincerest condolences to his family and community.

Our sincere condolences to your family. Such a great loss for you and for the community.
