Not sure what to say?

My first and last rememberances of LaRue are of her welcoming me with a smile, a hug and a lot of fanfare normally reserved for celebrities. I first met the Bean Family through Steve during my junior high school days in Seattle. Unlike other homes in the neighborhood, the Bean home was located far from the street, down a long curvy driveway, shaded by big trees and towering shrubs. It looked rather imposing to a young fellow like myself, and might have discouraged a few from wandering down...

When my husband Howard was a very young man just starting his career, we went together to the Bean residence to install a stereo system. I felt uncomfortable tagging along, but LaRue made us feel welcome and treated us as honored guests. We never forgot her kindness and have tried to follow her lovely example as to how to treat people as equals. Godspeed LaRue. Mischa and Howard Leendertsen.

As the former Manager of Onboard Service for United Airlines in Seattle, I try to follow the news from Seattle. My thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time.
Sincerely,

I have not visited with "Mrs. Bean" since my high school days almost 40 years ago when I was a good friend of her son Stephen. She cared deeply about her children and always welcomed us graciously into her home. My deepest sympathies go out to all of her family.
