Laszlo M. Tikos Sr.

I knew Laszlo both as a special family friend and as a professional mentor whose advice and guidance I still hold dear in my retirement. As I told Beata, once when he was in Russia and visiting friends who didn't have a clue about how to repair a porch he did it for them.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Laszlo's death. He was one of our family's best friends for many years. He was also an important mentor for me and his scholarship, particularly on Gogol was simply brilliant. I regret very much having lost touch with him in recent years. My profound condolences to the family.

Sorry for your loss. For many years Mr and Mrs Tiko´s came into my store (Amherst Music) to make purchases for themselves and children and grandkids. Always enjoyed their presence.

Laszlo led a wonderful study of Tolstoy and other Russian writers for the Leverett Congregational church, and I was fortunate to get to know him and his wife, Doris, during the time I was attending regularly. What talented people, who enriched my life. I will always remember the gifts I received from them.
