Laura Capone

My deepest sympathies to Laura's family. I was shocked to hear of her death. I went to school with Laura and remember alot of good times.

I worked with her for many years at MIT and came to know her well. and respect her combination of skills and talents She brought both pragmatism and principle to her work and to the Institute and was devoted to finding solutions that could benefit both her sense of people and her ideals. Laura was a colleague, a neighbor and a friend during my time at MIT. I looked forward to meetings with her; in addition to her dedication and diligience, she brought her fabulous sense of humor and infectious joie de vivre.

Dear Capone and Souza families,

It is hard to put into words how much Laura will be missed. When I was at MIT, she was truly the "wind beneath my wings" - always lifting me up, moving me forward, and teaching me things that no one else ever could. My life is richer for knowing her, and I am so very sad for your loss and how soon she left this earth.

Like many who have offered their condolences, Laura touched my life in the years that we crossed paths at MIT. I was stunned to hear the news of her loss. The last time I saw Laura I wasn't even aware that she was ill. She radiated that same smile and cheerful outlook we always knew.
