Laura A. Duprey

Laura A. Duprey 1940 - 2013 CHICOPEE - Laura Ann (Larivee) Duprey, 72, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013 in Baystate Medical Center. Born on Feb. 19, 1940, the daughter of the late Edward and Josephine (Casci) Larivee, Laura was educated in Holyoke schools and has lived in Chicopee since 1979. She served as the School Librarian for more than 10 years at the former Mt. Carmel School in Chicopee and was previously employed at the former Clark's Dept. Store in Holyoke where she served in many capacities. Her husband of 43 years, Roland Duprey, predeceased her on December 31, 2008. She is survived by a daughter, Dina Ann Duprey with whom she made her home, a brother, Edward J. Larivee, Jr. of Chicopee, several nieces and nephews, amont them Jessica M. Larivee of Chicopee, Justin J. Larivee of Belchertown and Paul Duprey and his wife Cynthia of East Longmeadow and "Brandy", her canine companion who has held vigil at Laura's side being certain that her safety was never compromised and that her every need was attended to. Besides her parents and her husband, Laura also suffered the loss of a niece, Kellie Louise Larivee. The funeral will be held on Friday morning beginning at the Corridan Funeral Home, 333 Springfield St., Chicopee at 8:30 with the Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated in the Chapel on the campus of Our Lady of the Elms College, 291 Springfield St., Chicopee at 9:30. Burial will follow at the Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Agawam at 11 a.m. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013 from 4 to 7 p.m. Contributions in Laura's memory may be directed to the American Diabetes Assn., 2080 Silas Deane Highway, Rocky Hill, CT 06067 or to the Shriners Hospital, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
