Valentine's Day seems a most appropriate time to recognized a beautiful spirit who was pure love. Laura Duvendack was a participant and graduate of the Multicultural Leadership Program (MCLP). I could feel that her focus was caring for others...of any age group. Her love for children was especially strong and I often imagined what a wonderfully positive impact she was having on those children and how they would be better adults for her influence. We need more people like Laura Duvendack. ...

As we approach the year anniversary of Laura's passing, I am flooded with memories all over again of Laura, her kindness, her spirit, and her compassion. What I wouldn't give for an old fashioned pool day at her house or game night with friends. Miss her!

Dear Naomi and Randy, Sarah and Holly, and other family members, We were so sorry to hear of Laura's untimely passing! The lovely and sweet little girl we knew at church not surprisingly became a wonderfully compassionate young woman whose passion for the well-being of children was her inspiration for all she did for so many children during her short life. We thank God for her life and ask Him to comfort each of you as you grieve your great loss. May you always feel our Lord's deep Love...

Laura was a positive, generous spirit to all she met. Her servant-leader heart and actions will be missed by many in her MCLP class of 2012 and beyond. Laura dedicated her life to the care and enrichment of children and in doing so she enriched the lives of those who knew her and worked with her. The Multicultural Leadership Institute and MCLP send their deepest condolences to the family.
