Mr. Horn and Family,
I want to give you all my deepest sympathy in your loss of such a wonderful and caring woman. She had such a powerful spirit about her. She taught my mother in 1973 and then me in 1997. I am so glad that God placed me in her class. I thoroughly enjoyed her lessons...she was a such a powerful and animated individual...the more she taught the lesson and/or read the story the more you wanted her to continue. I am very sorry to hear of your loss. Mrs. Horn was a very special person with a very caring and loving heart. I feel proud to have known her.

In each of our lives there are people who influence and inspire us to become the best of whatever we choose to be. Mrs. Horn was one of those special persons in my life. As one of her students some 30 years ago, she encouraged me to read the classics and to write from my heart. She was such a special lady and a great educator. I am grateful she left her footprints in my life.

Dear Howell,
I tried to leave an email message earlier but don't think you got it. I am so sorry to learn of Laura's death and I know the great sadness you must feel at this time. I wll be praying for you and your family.

Laura was a unique, caring person, rare in this day and age. She truly cared about people and her students. I have so many memories of her and my son Jason. She was always there to help him out, even when he didn't deserve it. I remember, one day, she sent him out to her car to get some papers and he came back wearing her sweater and I surely thought she would send him to the office. But she just laughed it off. There are very few people who have touched my life as deeply as Laura Horn. She inspired me beyond all hope and reason to become whatever I could become. I am today because of what Laura Horn was to me in high school. She was a unique educator who truly took the time and effort to develop and transform her students into something beyond their own capability. Mr. Horn and Marsha, I was so sorry to hear of the passing of Mrs. Horn. She was an inspiration to me, as well as many others, over the years. Her legacy will certainly live.
