Laura Lai was a partner in Him Mark Lai's tremendous contributions to Chinese American History---and the stories of a people and culture that they themselves embodies. Both Laura and Him Mark were humble, caring and great contibutors to our city and community---difficult to replace.

Laura and Him Mark were compassionate, kiind, generous and giving people. Laura was also a warm and caring person who was quiet, but yet, persistent and a loyal and faithful "soulmate" and sojourner for our Chinese American community. We shall miss her. But we endeavor to emulate her "good and quiet works" also.
