Not sure what to say?

i don´t know that you or hugh remember me at all, but. every so often i think about the kind older couple next door to me, who used to let a kid like me just come over and hang out and bother you guys. i was really young, and so my memories are fuzzy, but i think it says a lot that even so, i remember you both very fondly. i´m so sorry you´re gone. it´s not fair to be taken away so young. thank you so much for your kindness and your generosity-there was no reason to be so welcoming to a...

here we are, 9 years passing, no less is the power or brilliance of Laura's presence, impact... what mischief now, dear sprite? you bring a smile + a lightness to the spirit when I see your face, hear your name, or think of some quirky story connected with your bigger than life self. time is but a consideration...

Her positive outlook was always appreciated esp. at art meetings where there could be some hearty disagreements. I always enjoyed talking with her.

hugh, i've thought a lot about laura in this last year since she left. . . as have you, certainly.

i've told the story any number of times of laura straddling her bike in the snow and cold and telling a shivering swim buddy (who couldn't believe she'd braved the weather) "why, it's a beautiful day!"

i think of her whenever i go to bed really early and get up really early.

i think of her when i buy stuff or get rid of stuff, and when there are too many clothes in my...

She always had a great smile and asked how you were doing when I worked with her at Forsythe. She really lived in the moment and was loving life despite her adversity. May her spirit live on in us somehow. Condolences to her family and friends.

Mac - Greatly saddened to hear this. But glad to know someone kept you honest for 20+ years. Regret not knowing her longer. I am married to an artist as well, and know the drill. Doug Marshall

Laura was an exceptional person, warm and caring and a dedicated Art teacher to her students. She was a great addition to the Art staff of Ann Arbor when she joined the ranks of visual educators. She will be remembered by many students who caught creative inspiration from her teaching that will remain with them through their life.

Condolences to all; Tim Eiseman, former AA Art teacher

Dearest Hugh and Family,
I had the great privilege of sharing the art office at Forsythe with the dynamo we know as Laura . Her energy and enthusiasm were contagious. Her ability to to get things done at the speed of light was amazing! We worked well together. I was a pack-rat, but for her, if we weren't using it, it was "off the bus!" Laura worked tirelessly for her students and the whole school, always cheering us on. I can see her in my mind's eye coming in with her bike...

Laura was so willing to work with students who struggled. She felt that art could help them. She always made a point to tell me how much she enjoyed her students. Her smile and cheery personality will be missed.
