Not sure what to say?

So very sorry to hear of Laurie's death. She was an inspiration to all of us, her energy for causes that she believed in and supported, always a true friend and confidant. I missed her friendship for many years, but will meet again in a better place. Taryn Edwards

I was so saddened to hear of Laura's (Laurie's) passing. She was a generous, talented, and enthusiastic citizen of the world. It was my good fortune to have the opportunity to work with Louie and Laurie when they renovated their wonderful home in Lincoln Park in the early 90's. They kindly and warmly welcomed me into their enchanting world. Laurie shared her love of people, gatherings, and service with all of us who were lucky enough to be swept up into her great love of life. She is, and...

My husband, John, and I send our deepest sympathy to Louis and their family. I got to know Laura or Laurie thru ARCS Chicago, later ARCS Illinois, in the late 1980´s. She was such a fireball, and so kind to help those of us who grew up in the burbs of Chicago to get acquainted with Illinois and national charities and how to get involved. She always had good as well as fun ideas. The world will miss Laura.

I am so deeply sorry to hear this news. My heart goes out to her family at this very sad time. She was an mazing woman who led an amazing life

Laura taught us all the importance and meaning of caring for others. She gave us noble lessons to realize we are all connected to one another. In each of her travels she served as a blessed ambassador for good She always promoted that we each belong to a global village of love Laura brought her spirit of benevolence and compassion that became the cornerstone for SOS Children´s Villages Illinois that now serves over 500 children in foster care each year. Laura´s loving presence in this world...

I have always had a great deal of respect and admiration for Laura. She will be missed by all ! My thoughts and best wishes to the family!!

Laurie was my oldest friend. We grew up as little kids next door to each other on Lakeview Ave. We continued our friendship when our families moved to State Street: summer fun in Lake Geneva and Colorado, in each other's first weddings and godparents to each other's children. I can't believe she has gone. I mourn with all of her family. What a beautiful friend of almost 80 years!
