Westfield- Laura A. (Tefft) Sweeney, 57, passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully on January 14, surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Springfield, Laura was the daughter of M. Helen (Pugliano) O’Neil and the late Ralph E. Tefft. She was a graduate of Putnam Vocational High School and received her Associate’s degree in nursing from HCC. Laura worked as an LPN and was employed as a waitress at Schermerhorn’s restaurant in Holyoke for many years. In addition to her mother Helen, Laura is also survived by her daughter, Samantha Tefft and her husband, Tyler Chick, her son Mark Tefft, and his partner Nichole, her brothers, Steve and Dave Cote, and her grandchildren, Nevaeh, Seth, Charlotte, and Amara, along with many extended family and friends. Laura loved her family above all else and cherished any time she was able to spend with her children and grandchildren. She had an infectious laugh that brought a smile to people’s faces and had the charm and personality to make new friends everywhere she went. Laura enjoyed riding on the back of a Harley Davidson, listening to Kid Rock, rooting for the Dallas Cowboys, sunflowers, and her coffee with French vanilla creamer. Laura was a friend of Bill and Bob, and was able to live her best life, be her best self, and meet some of her best friends because of them. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Lifepoint Church, 603 New Ludlow Rd., Chicopee, MA, on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024 beginning at 11:00am.
