Laura Margaret Walker

Many years have passed but the courage, tenacity and multiple abilities of this fine young American remain unchanged - indeed we have more need than ever of all that she represented. Her smiling face in these photos and the words written by her comrades give a clear picture of exactly who and what she was, both to all those who loved her and love her still, to her comrades in arms and to those of us who only came to know of her after her passing. Peace to you Lt. Walker and to your family.

Dear Col. And Mrs. Walker,

I don't know if you will get my message. I wanted to tell you that each time I visit my husbands grave - Richard J. Flynn class of 1968 - I place pink roses on your daughter's site. My husband is buried close to Laura. Be thou at peace - both of these two remarkable people.

I went to Wuerzburg High School with Laura. She was truly one of the strongest, smartest and most beautiful people I've ever had the pleasure of calling a friend in my life. I hoped our paths would one day cross during my tenure in the Army. From time to time she and others cross my mind that made the ultimate sacrifice. She will never be forgotten.

To Laura, a beautiful soul, and her family, our thoughts and prayers are with you.

You were the baby of the team, the silly, goofy one. You never took life serious but yet always protected your teammates and your goal. You were always quiet and soft spoken but yet when you spoke you commanded an audience and your message was worth listening to. I miss you kid! I hate that you are taken so young but your legacy lives on with so many people that had the pleasure of having you in their life. You my friend are not and will not ever be forgotten.
