Laura Pearl Warnick, 87, of Elwin, IL passed away at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 17, 2015, in St. Mary's Hospital, Decatur, IL.

A service to celebrate Laura's life will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 20, 2015, at the Elwin United Methodist Church with Rev. Randy McGeehon officiating. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Mt. Gilead Cemetery. Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion will be assisting the family with services. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the Elwin United Methodist Church. Laura was born July 29, 1927, in Moweaqua, IL the daughter of Roy and Rosa (Larosa) Portwood. Laura married James Warnick on May 17, 1958. Laura served as the Town Clerk for South Wheatland Township for over thirty years. She was a member of the Elwin United Methodist Church and had played the piano at church for over fifty years. She was an active leader and pianist at Bible Study Fellowship for 15 years. One of her greatest joy's in life was spending time with her family.

Surviving are her husband: Jim of Elwin; daughter: Julie McClarey of Mt. Zion; grandson: Ryan McClarey of Orlando, FL; granddaughters: Brittany Buetow and her husband Matt of St. Louis, MO and Jennifer McClarey of Mt. Zion and Illinois State University; great-grandson: Matthew Buetow of St. Louis, MO.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter: Kathy, and her brother: Earl.
