Rocky Face, Georgia
Laurel Ashley Barnett, age 17, of Rocky Face, passed away Monday, December 15, 2003 as a result of an automobile accident while en route to Northwest High School.
She was a member of Eastbrook Baptist Church and was employed part time at K-Mart.
Survivors include her parents, Jerry and Lori Barnett of Rocky Face; one brother, Rick Barnett of Ringgold; maternal grandparents, Mary and Marvin Bright of Tunnel Hill and Lewis Dyer of Dalton; paternal grandmother, Syble Barnett of Dalton; cousins, Clark, Alethea, Erica, Mary, Krystal, Chance, Madilyn, Sarah, Tabatha, and Zeke; several aunts and uncles; two special friends, Nicole Couch of Rocky Face, and Ashley Long of Dalton.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, December 18, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Westside Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Brinkley and Rev. Jimmy Floyd.
Burial will be in the Dogwood Valley Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, December 17, 2003 after 11:00 a.m.

ashley, it has been a while since i have came on and left a message, i want you to know how you are missed and loved,time will never heal.. but i thought of you because i was sitting outside alone, worrying about my sister, two yellow butterflies showed up and acted like flies, you know they would not go away, so i thought of you and it made a smile come over my whole body, i know what the mesage was... i know that sounds crazy, but i so believe in the warmth of a loving soul. thank you.....
