Send FlowersNewburgh, NY Lauren Amber Monforte, lifelong area resident, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2009 in Newburgh. She was born in Suffern on November 10, 1982 to John J. and Maryanne Kostanty Monforte. Lauren was an Art Teacher at Florida Union School District in Florida, NY. She is survived by her parents, John and Maryanne Monforte of Highland Mills; a sister, Nicole Keegan and her husband, Timothy of Chester; paternal grandmother, Enes Mulhearn of West New York, NJ; and her soul mate, Lino Fantini of Newburgh. A family statement reads: "Our daughter, our sister, our friend, Lauren was a sunshine that brightened the life of everyone she touched. She'll always be in our hearts." Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 7, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 515 Route 32, Highland Mills, NY. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, May 8, at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, 448 Route 32, Highland Mills. Interment will follow in the Cemetery of the Highlands, Route 32, Highland Mills. I can not believe it has been 14 years since we were last with Lauren. It seems like yesterday that we were together in school. Lauren was a wonderful person and colleague. She is still thought of often, as her artwork remains on the walls of SS Seward.
