Charlotte, North Carolina - Lauren Courtney Talton, 39, of Huntersville NC, passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022, at Atrium CMC Main surrounded by her loved ones. She suffered a cardiac arrest on Thursday, February 3. Words cannot adequately express the intensity of loss felt by her family and friends who love her so deeply. Lauren cherishes her children and is so proud of them. She brings joy and light to so many and is sorely missed.
Lauren Courtney Barnette was born in Charlotte, North Carolina on March 9, 1982, to Lynne Belk Barnette and Norman Barnette. She attended Charlotte Mecklenburg schools and graduated from UNC Charlotte with a master's degree. She was a facilitator and educator at North Mecklenburg High School.
Lauren was preceded in death by her father, Norman Barnette. She leaves behind her husband, James Olin Talton and their beloved daughters, Lily Kate Talton and Alice Harper Talton. She also leaves behind her mother Lynne Darvishian of Charlotte; her brother Andrew Barnette of Charlotte; her mother in-law and father-in law Ron and Rebecca Talton, her other in-laws, nieces, and nephew; plus, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins who adored her.
The Service of Celebration of Lauren's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 12 at Amity Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, NC followed by a visitation in Johnston Hall. Face Masks for attendees over 12 years of age are requested during both the service and reception.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

I met Lauren when she joined our team. Although, we were virtual she always made us smile by saying something funny. I remember she introduced her girls to the team when they walked in the room on camera and said hello. There are no words to express how unbelieveable this is. My heartfelt prayers for her children, husband, family, and friends. She will truly be missed and will always be a part of our CMS CTE Instructional Facilitator family. RIH Lauren!

I met Lauren a few years ago while working for CMS on a project to enhance the district´s English curriculum. She and I became instant friends and our work sessions were filled with laughter as Lauren´s quick wit and lively personality made each day an absolute joy. Her impact on my life was similar to the incredible impact that she had on the lives of everyone that was fortunate enough to have an interaction with her. Lauren´s spirit was amazing and you always left feeling much better about life after spending time with her. Losing Lauren is difficult to process and the pain of it all is a heavy burden to bear. However, Lauren´s life was well lived and she had such a positive impact on so many people that I know her life will continue to speak volumes through those that were blessed by her presence.

To the family, my deepest sympathy to you. Mrs. Talton was such sweet person. She loved the students and her actions showed it. As a parent volunteer, I worked with her on Senior Week activities for CO 2018. She was highly thought of by the students. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
