Lauren Richard Weed

ETOWAH-Mr. Lauren Richard Weed, age 88, of Etowah , died on December 31, 2014 at the Elizabeth House.
Mr. Weed was born March 13th, 1926 son of the late Mr. Ellsworth Lafayette Weed and Mrs. Grace Inez Cornwall Weed. He graduated from Erie Technical High School in Erie, Pennsylvania and received a Mechanical Engineering Degree from Bucknell University. He retired from Blackstone Corporation, Jamestown NY. He served in the United States Navy in the Preflight Program during WWII. He was a member of Etowah Presbyterian Church and was an Elder.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Olsen Giles Weed; a son, Mark Richard Weed of Falconer NY; a daughter, Mrs. Diane Weed Bentley of Keysville, VA; 3 sisters, Doris Hansen, Wilma Marsh, and Lois Stover; 3 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Funeral services will be 11 AM Thursday January 8th, 2015 at Thos. Shepherd's Church Street chapel.
Burial with military honors will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.
