Chambers Funeral Homes - Cleveland Obituary

LAURENE A. DALEY (nee Guzowski) age 79.  Surrounded by her husband of almost 62 years, her family and listening to her favorites from Neil Diamond & Elvis, Laurene peacefully passed as she wished in her home.  Beloved wife of Randolph (Randy), Mother of Jackie Gribb (Dan), Timothy (Mary Louise), Christopher (Bridget), Randy (Cari), Rebecca, Nana of Joseph (Satomi), Sara, Jake, Kate, Kaylee, Kathleen, Sister of Joanne (Deceased), Thomas, Edward, Lawrence (Deceased), Michelle, Pat, Mary (Deceased), Beloved Aunt, Friend and Coworker.

Many of her years were spent taking care of her husband and children as a Homemaker and when her children were older went on to have a 20-year career at Lutheran Hospital in the Physical Therapy Department as a Secretary. There are not enough words to describe the wonderful wife, mother, Nana and sister that she was.  She always made our favorite food on our birthdays and baked whatever cake we wanted but for Randy, it was always Lemon Meringue pies. She was known for her brown bread that she always made to hand out during the Holiday season. In her retirement, Laurene & Randy would hop in the car for road trips and some of her favorites were Marblehead Lighthouse, Frankenmuth MI, Amish Country & Ocean City.  She was always seen with either a book in her hand or cross stitching while watching the Food Network. She loved nothing better than sitting by the Ocean listening and watching the waves with a book. Heaven gained the best angel of all who is getting everyone in line because she was the boss.  We know that Laurene is looking down with pride and smiling as she has found her eternal spot by the water, watching the waves with her feet in the sand and book by her side.

Rest peacefully, you deserve it.

All of our love, now and forever.

Not sure what to say?

Although we haven’t seen you much in recent years, I remember you and Laurene as being fun to be around. A funny memory I have of Laurene is the time she babysat for me and my sisters and when she stepped outside for a minute, we locked her out of the house. I don’t think she thought it was as funny as we did.

We are so sorry for your loss. We pray that God will given you the comfort you I will need to get through this most difficult time.

My condolences to Randy and the family. I plan to read a book in her honor. May you all find peace.

Deepest sympathy to you all on the sad passing of Laurene.A wife, mother and grandmother. May her gentle soul rest in peace

Hey big Sister,

You taught me so much about life and loving. The importance of family. The list is endless. I'll always be grateful. Though my heart is breaking, I am glad that you had the end you deserved surrounded by those closest to you. We will follow your example and take care of one another. Love from Justine, Patrick, Amanda, Colin, and Abby. Give Mom and Dad a hug from me.
