Laurie J. Bibisi 71, of Wethersfield CT passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday October 7th, 2025. Laurie was born in Hartford, CT and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (Kearney) Villa. Laurie was the youngest of 5 children. Laurie grew up in Wethersfield and later her family moved to Monroe CT in which she graduated from Monroe Hight School in 1971. After graduating Laurie met the love of her life Lenny and started a family. Laurie was a very giving person and loved to help everyone. She was engaged in many activities in her life from advocating for human rights and participating in marches in the late 60's and early 70's along with helping in changing laws at the capitol in Hartford for victims of violent crimes alongside Leonard Oberg. Laurie worked in the insurance industry at Aetna in Hartford and also was regional supervisor at Raymore and Flanagan for many years. Her passion though was at the CT Humane Society as the Kennel Supervisor where she aided in rescues, rehabilitations and finding forever homes for the animals in her care. Laurie was dedicated to her mother and assisted in caring for her when her health was not well and was with her not only as a daughter but best friend to the end. Family was always a priority in her life, she always loved celebrating holidays, birthdays and special family events. In retirement she started a group called: Woodstock Let's Get Back to the Garden and promoted music, friendships and forums which she enjoyed and brought many people together. Laurie enjoyed life, family, friends and loved everyone. The beach was always a place she loved along with trips with friends to Florida, the Cape and Bethel Woods the Woodstock Monument.
Laurie is survived by her daughter Stacey Oberg-Blakeney and her husband James; her Nieces; Emily and Mellisa Connors; Newphew in law Robert Salter; Great nieces; Jessica, Leah and Marena Connors; Great Newphew Tommy and his wife Kimberly Connors. Great, Great nieces and nephew: Sofia, Colton and Camryn. Along with her lifelong best friend from 10yrs old on Beth Gilbert Greywolf. She was predeceased by her brother Mark Villa, great nephew Joseph T Connors, and former husband and lifelong friend Leonard T Oberg.

Friends are invited to a celebration of Laurie's life with a Mass of Christian Burial Service held at Corpus Christi Church on October 18, 2025, at 10am. 601 Silas Dean Hwy, Wethersfield, CT 06109. A gathering will be held after church service. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
