Not sure what to say?

Art and Family Members,

Were saddened to read the news of Lauries recent passing and offer our deepest condolences. Your decades of mutual love and devotion and the constant care you personally provided her, Art, were an inspiration to many of us.

To us, Lauries life exemplified fierce courage and determination, an intense spirit of independence, and a powerful commitment to the welfare of Vermont-NEA and its union members. Despite mounting physical challenges caused by...

So sorry to hear of your loss, Art.

I admired Laurie and she inspired me. Her contributions to education and educators in Vermont are incalculable. David Giguere Vermont NEA Washington County Director in the 1990s

As you know, Art, Laurie was one of a kind. I appreciated her sense of humor, forthright advice, and dedication to the leaders and members of VT-NEA. She had an uncanny way of helping leaders solve problems during a bargaining crisis and was always ready to help resolve the issues at hand. The two of you made a great team with you as a photographer and Laurie as the editor/ writer of VT-NEA Today. Her can do spirit inspired us all. My heart goes out to you and the surviving members of...

I first met Laurie in 1989 when I was a 23 year old elementary school teacher in Barre. I was appointed the communications director for our local union, and Laurie was there every step of the way helping and advising me. She was an inspiration to all who came into contact with her. My sincere condolences.

Art, so sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I was so sorry to read of Laurie's death. Although I haven't seen her for years, Laurie was the heart, soul, and brain guiding the "Hinesburg 28" in 1985. She was so organized, passionate, and positive in her thinking, leading us through the many weeks of a traumatic strike. She provided clear, strong, but compassionate strategy. Occasionally, Laurie and I would sit and and commiserate over multiple sclerosis because I grew up with my mother also having MS. Years later, I served with her...

Our fond memories of Laurie go back to the early seventies when she worked in our family restaurant, Alfonso's, in Burlington. She was one hard working and very dedicated employee. Laurie was loved by all and became a dear friend of my family and customers too.
Our paths crossed again as my husband and I both entered the education profession. Laurie's sense of humor and charm, her intelligence and skill, and her positive nature were gifts as we in the challenging world of education...

You will live in all our hearts. RIP ♀.
