Laurie A. Oyler
1962 - 2025
Palmer
Laurie A. Oyler, age 62 , died unexpectedly at Baystate Medical Center on Thursday, June 26th. Born in Chicopee to the late Norman and Ruth Oyler she was a communicant at Grace Episcopal Church and educated in Chicopee schools, graduating from AIC with a degree in Finance. Laurie married her sweetheart Craig Bartish on 11-11-11 in Mexico. Laurie's career evolved with her retiring as the Director of Municipal Reimbursement for L.P.V.E.C.
Laurie was kindhearted, and funny. Her smile lit up the room and she would give you the shirt off her back. She was a gentle soul and loved unconditionally by her friends. Laurie had a love of gardening, cooking, reading, and traveling with a special talent for growing and making food for people she loved. Laurie always had a good story to tell of her adventures and travels. She was someone who had a love of life, and lived it to the fullest, along with her cherished dog Jack.
In addition to her parents, Laurie was predeceased by her husband Craig Bartish and three brothers, Bruce, James and John Oyler. Laurie is survived by her sisters; Barbara Oyler Roberts and her husband Leland, Candy Oyler and her fiancé George Cooper, along with her three step children Katie, Brian, Nicholas and their significant others. She leaves four nieces and nephews, Jennifer Walsh, Melissa Oyler, Patrick Oyler, Timothy Oyler, and their significant others and children: Antwan, Aniyah, Deianeira, Donovan, Evan, and Natalia.
Friends are invited to share memories of Laurie and join the family in a celebration of her life during the visitation at Curran Jones Funeral Home, 109 Main Street, West Springfield on Tuesday July 8 from 9:00am until the service at 11:00am, followed by burial in Hillcrest Park Cemetery. Rest in Peace "Little One". In the words of Khalil Gibran "Life without love is like a tree without blossoms or fruit".

Not sure what to say?

Our sincere sympathy and prayers to all of Laurie's family .She was a true joy to know and be with. May she have eternal bliss with Craig. BOTH DEAR SOULS ...ALWAYS IN OUR HEARTS.

This picture was taken in Mexico (on Isla Mujeres). We were planning to be meeting our other friends (Teddy and Melissa) on the island. They were either already there or we beat them--can't remember exactly, and this was a totally spontaneous decision we made to go. We didn't know that pictured here with us (Craig and Laurie Bartish, our friend Melissa's Aunt and Uncle) were also going on this trip until Laurie came walking through the isle on the plane and said, "Hey guys! What's up!?" Much...

So sorry to hear about Lauries passing, she was such a nice person, sending condolences to her family at this difficult time

Dear Family, I am heartbroken over the loss of Laurie. Since Craig died I spoke to her everyday. We laughed & cried & shared lots of memories over coffee every morning. Laurie was a bright light wherever she went. If you had the pleasure to know her you were blessed. Miss you dearly my friend. May you rest in peace, Judi

Sympathy goes out to her family and friends. She always lit up the room when she entered. She will be missed by many.

There are no words for the loss we all feel at Laurie's passing. Our hearts are sad but will forever hold and cherish the memories we have shared. Love You, Mean It ! Philly
