Not sure what to say?

I am deeply saddened to learn that Laurie will no longer grace us with her passion for learning and service. It is our loss as a social work profession as she was commited to helping others overcome obstacles. She demonstrated her passion by her high academic standards. Laurie was a dedicated student and brought a great deal into my classroom in the BSW program at JSU. As one of her professors, I believe we both grew as she rose to meet all challenges and helped me become a better teacher....

On behalf of the Social Work Club at JSU, we send our deepest sympathy to the family and loved ones of Laurie. Laurie was a very active member in the Social Work Club and she will be missed.

Our Love to you Karen & Nick & Family. God has called a wonderful angel home. It is so hard to understand but to trust in him is all we have . Love Muffin & Bob Caldwell

My sympathies to Laurie's family and friends. As new faculty at JSU, Laurie was in my first semester classes Fall 2006. She was an unusually open student in my classes, always helpful to and tolerant of me as a "newbie to JSU" instructor--and always helpful to her friends and classmates at JSU. She will be missed, especially after her success with her BSW, ready to offer so much more to others in her life and new career.

Amy (and Family)

I am deeply saddened to hear of Laurie's passing. This is truely unexpected and quite shocking to learn of...There are really no words to convey the depth of sorrow I feel for you all.

This Year, 2007 has just been a year of emotional experiences. Learning this news is unfortunately for me- yet another affirmation of how we must continue living life-

We really and truly must make each day count. We must embrace life, and live it to its fullest as...

Dear Amy & family, I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. Amy told me many stories about Laurie over the years. My heart just broke at hearing this news. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you as you seek comfort and healing.

We work with Mark Vandewater in Atlanta. Mark has told us how much Laurie meant to his children.

Dear Nick - I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and Karen.

Karon and Nick, I am praying for your comfort from our Lord as only He can give. He knows your deep sorrow and you can rest in His grace. Laurie is resting in His arms of love. You are special friends. Love you.
