LAURIE ANN ZERTUCHE
October 28, 1959 - May 13, 2023
Laurie Ann Zertuche, born in San Antonio, TX on October 28, 1959 to parents Manuel and Cecilia Zertuche, entered into eternity on May 13, 2023. Laurie was a remarkable woman who was born "visually impaired" yet she saw more than any one of us. A longtime member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church, she worked at the San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind and enjoyed traveling and spending her Saturdays participating in the Bowlerina's Bowling League.

She is survived by her parents, Manuel and Cecilia Zertuche; brothers, Robert Zertuche, Michael (Jessica) Zertuche, sisters, Cindy (Nathan) Alonzo and Christina Zertuche. Laurie was a loving aunt to numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces. Laurie was the beacon of light in our family. We will miss you, but know we will all be reunited one day.

Visitation will begin on Tuesday, May 23rd at 5:30pm with a Celebration of Life service to be held at 7:00pm at the Angelus Chapel. Funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday, May 24th at 10:00am at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, 10703 Wurzbach Rd. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery at Cordi-Marian, 11624 Culebra Road.

I was delighted to be Laurie’s very first teacher when she was a young girl. She attended Olmos Elementary School and then the class was moved to Castle Hills Elementary. She was always a delightful student - a ray of sunshine every single day. She enjoyed being in class with the other students and was always willing and eager to help anyone when needed. She loved learning about new things and was so eager to learn to read and do math and all the other things that were presented to her. ...

I Had pleasure of work with her for fifteen years . Laurie was a wonderful person to talk to and spend time with she loved everyone and we love her going to Miss her so much Laurie always asks about everyone's family And how they were doing a hard working Lady . She knew her way around everywhere at work and she knew a lot of things that we worked on. It's going to be hard to find someone like her .
My family and I will always love you Laurie.
