Laverne Benjamin "Vern" Tubergen M.D.

Dear family, I just found out about Vern passing and I´m very sorry for your loss. Sounds like he made a profound difference in a lot of peoples lives. I was not only stationed with him in 2nd 20th ARA, 1st Cav Div, Quan Loi, Vietnam, He was also my hootch mate. In May 1969, he stitched me up after shrapnel from a rocket ripped open my right arm. I lost a very dear old friend when Vern passed away. We went through medical schools together, and I was blessed enough to have the opportunity to spend time with Vern at our class reunions. Vern was absolutely one of the most down to earth, descent men I have ever met-what a loss for his family.

I will miss you my friend-but will see you again.

I have no words and I'm so incredibly sad to hear this for your family. We will be thinking about you guys. Sending you hugs and keeping you in our prayers.

Dr Tubergen along with Neuro-surgeon, Dr Campbell, very successfully removed my Acoustic Neuroma in 1981 at University Hospital. I will forever be grateful for his knowledge and expertise as well as his kind bedside manner. We were also privileged to see him on occasion at Fishback Creek Public Academy when we were all attending Grandparent Day activities there.
