You definitely made an impression in my life. Being in the school system for about 20 years, I can honestly say that only a handful are true teachers. You are definitely one of my mentors. The passion you showed and love you gave to all your classes were very evident. I will miss sitting with you and enjoying sliced apples with caramel. I will also miss our chocolate and coffee breaks. I am so glad that God crossed our paths.

It is with great sadness as I think of the loss of such a wonderful teacher & sweet friend. Lavina and I taught together at White Rock & became friends in 1981. She was so much fun & a joy to be around. What a legacy Lavina has left through the lives of so many that she had inspired through her teaching. A job well done, my friend❤

It was hard for me to let my "babies" start school; but Miss Bostwick quickly put my mind at ease. I'm very thankful both our boys got to know her. She was a great lady and we will miss her!

Dear "Aunt" Lavina, when I first met you some 40 plus years ago little did I know you would still be such a part of the family in 2016. I still remember getting caught reading my library books in class instead of doing my homework. You would shake your head and give me your stern look of disapproval which scared me back then. In the four years you taught me I could never get by with reading the wrong book in class. Over the years you have been Aunt Lavina or Miss Bostwick to more kids than most people will meet in a lifetime. I am proud to have been there in the beginning. Heaven is where you are probably with a group of kids setting around their new teacher. You will be missed by many.

I cherish the memories made in her class, under her loving instruction(1989-1990). White Rock and the Jacktown community hasn't a finer ambassador than Miss Bostwick. She will be missed!
