My memories of Mrs. Smith are of a fun, loving intelligent woman. When in grade school, occasionally Mike and I would walk to the Smith home for lunch. Always LaVon was welcoming and giving with nutritious chow. She was quick to smile and engage in conversation. My last time to see LaVon was at a celebration-of-life for a mutual friend. I found myself in the buffet line next to a lovely woman that tapped me on the shoulder. It was LaVon and she had recognized me. We had a great time...
