Lawrence “Larry” B. Karpin, age 85 of New London, WI passed away on Friday, October 6th, 2023, surrounded by his most beloved family. He was born to Benjamin and Marie (Krupe) Karpinski on September 2nd, 1938 in Detroit, MI. Larry graduated from high school, took some college courses, and went on to become a medical technician. After a few years, he joined the United States Army and served for several years. Larry married the love of his life; Patricia Greeley and they were married in August of 1965.
Larry was a free spirit and loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle all around town. He was a very active man, lifting weights, biking riding, and running as often as he could. He also helped make food baskets every year in Milwaukee for those in need. More than anything, though, Larry was a family man, and so proud of everyone he helped raise.
In respect for Larry’s wishes, no formal funeral services will be held. But Larry’s family encourages those who loved him to have a nice dinner in celebration of the life he lived, preferably at The Waters in New London, WI – one of his favorite restaurants.
Larry is survived by his soulmate, best friend, and wife, Patricia Karpin. He also leaves behind his children, Larry Jr. Karpin, Chris Karpin, and Tracy Stumvoll; his three grandchildren, Tiffany, Chris, and Casey; several great-grandchildren, Reggie, Bailye, Logan, Alyah, and Levi; his sister-in-law, Nancy Rogers; three nephews, Brian, Chris, and Brent; as well as his very special dog companion, Willow. He was an amazing family man and friend who shared stories and advice to all who he cared for.
