Lawrence Donald Appelt

Lawrence Donald "Red" Appelt, passed away Aug. 9, 2010 in Vancouver, WA. He was born July 9, 1934 in Sheridan County, ND, the son of Edward and Anna (Buechle) Appelt. Lawrence was in the Army from Dec. 7, 1954 - Dec. 10, 1956. Lawrence married Nadine Hoffarth in Esmond, ND and then divorced in 1984. He later married Fran St. Helen on June 8, 1988. Lawrence's passion was his yard and garden. He enjoyed socializing at dances and playing cards. His greatest love was playing with the children. Survivors include his wife, Fran; sons, Edward Appelt and friend Kim Kenyon, Aaron (Shantel) Appelt; daughter-in-law, Tara Appelt; grandchildren, Rylie and Ethan Appelt and Jaylen and Jaxen Appelt; brother, Gerald Appelt of Minot; sisters, Marion Thomssen and Phyllis (Eugene) Lemer of North Dakota; mother of his children, Nadine Appelt; sisters-in-law, Anna Marie (Estagen) Zimmerman, Bernadine (Robert) Mittelbach, Rosa (Raymond) Hager, and Regina (Alton) Johnson, Fridley, MN, Sophia (Frederick) Buerkley, Kulm, ND; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Marion; an infant son; brother-in-law, Wayne Thomssen; and sister-in-law, Donna Appelt.
