Lawrence Barnwell, 92, of Somerset, died Saturday, January 29, 2005 at Charlton Memorial Hospital, Fall River.

He was the husband of the late Doris (Messier) Barnwell.

Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Ambrose and Edith (Murray) Barnwell, he lived in Somerset for most of his life.

He was a 1932 graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, Fall River.

Mr. Barnwell was a book keeper for the A & P Super Markets, retiring in 1974.

He was a member of the Somerset Village Senior Citizens and a communicant of St. Thomas More Church, Somerset.

He is survived by three sons, Rev. Gerald P. Barnwell, Pastor of St. Peter’s Church, Dighton, Lawrence & his wife Susan Barnwell of Swansea and Stephen Barnwell of Somerset; a daughter, Sheila Sullivan of Tiverton; Two grandsons, a greatgrandson, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation Monday, January 31, 2005 from 4-7 p.m. in Auclair Funeral Home.

His funeral will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. from AUCLAIR FUNERAL HOME, 690 S.Main St. River, with a mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter’s Church, Main St. Dighton at 10 a.m.

Burial, St. Patrick Cemetery, Somerset.
