Not sure what to say?

I'm sorry to say this is the first I've heard of Larry's passing, two years later. He served on my doctoral committee at UM in 1996, and he often attended concerts and recitals of the Ann Arbor Festival of Song, which I co-direct. He was always thoughtful, kind, so well-read, a delight to talk to, and unfailingly supportive of the arts and artists in our community. Men like Larry are rare and he is missed. RIP.

I am sorry to hear of Larry´s passing and our thoughts are with Jean. As the new stewards of Larry and Jean´s lovely home on Huron River Drive, we think of Larry often and with gratitude. Larry and Jean´s kindness during the transition, and the thoughtful, meticulous information they left for us, have made our home more comfortable, and given us a feeling of continuity with the past.

Pete and I are so saddened to learn of Larry's passing. He was something else! Smart, caring, funny. Just the best that a human being can be. If we all took lessons from and emulated him, this world would be a truly wonderful place. Our love you all. (And, indeed, we will vote!!)

Of course, if he were hearing any of this, Larry would have cheerfully leaped upon this melange of metaphors, penetrated the weaknesses of the...

As a member of our book club, we would hang on every word because he had such a vast store of knowledge about authors and relevant historical events. What a great intellect and a true oral scholar. He gave to all of us a much richer understanding of the complex world we live in today. I will forever be thinking about his time with us, and his...
