Not sure what to say?

Continue to Rest in Paradise and look over you family.

Well daddy it´s been 9 years. Wow, but it seems like yesterday. You are missed, thought about, and your immediate family has expanded. You now have a school named after you; your grandkids are married. you have 3 additional great grandchildren, totaling now to 4 and yep finally got another boy to carry that name. Lol. As we continue to have your name shining bright. Ruth is doing well as I am still upholding my promises I made to you. I know you are still smiling upon us, because we...

Hey Uncle Lawrence, Just want to stop by to let you know that you're thought of. Until we meet again, Your "great" Niece, Keyia

He was my principle at Orr elementary in the late 80's. I am glad the school is now named after him. Rest well. With condolense former student Lakisha Weatherspoon (then).

My name is William Venson Jr. I attended Orr in the late 70s. Mr Boone was the only positive black man that i knew of that I could talk directly with, a man of dedication and commitment to the children of SE DC. I moved away from DC years ago, my mom still lives a few blocks from the old site of Orr. I was surprised to see that the old building was being torn down and replace with not only a new building but a new building with the name Lawrence E. Boone. This is a terrific tribute to a man...

Uncle Lawrence was a kind and considerate person. He provided me with encouragement as I grew up and embarked on my journey in life. May you rest in peace, gone but not forgotten. Love, your niece Charmayne

Take comfort in knowing that now you have a special guardian angel to watch over you.

Mr. Boone always made sure that I was in line from first to sixth grade. He would stop me in the hallway or the lunch room sometimes just to make sure I was good and ask me about my family. Out of all the school principals that I've had Mr. Boone was and is the best and I will always remember him.

Mr. Boone always kept me in line, i'm not sure of our family history and how we're related through my grandmother but growing up, it didn't matter how. I just knew that we were related and you didn't tell on me the day that I was sent to your office for misbehaving... even though you made me sit on that hard bench lol. You are truly missed and you'll never be forgotten in this community. Continue to Rest in Heaven
