Met Fr. Coakley at Holy Trinity in Columbia PA. He and my husband had a bond with Pittsburgh. I liked his down to earth manner which made him so likeable. So very sorry to learn of his passing. Go d bless him. Greg & Harlene Willard

I just learned of Larry Coakley's death. I recall him fondly from our days at St. Mary's College, St. Mary's, KY. Rest in peace, my old friend from those days in the south. You were a great guy then & I was pleased to read the condolences from friends and parishioners and I'm not surprised to read the wonderful testament to your life as a priest. Eternal rest, grant unto him, O Lord.

I was shocked and saddened to learn of the death of Fr. Larry Coakley. I remember him fondly from St. Theresa's Parish in New Cumberland. I loved hearing his moving sermons and of course his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers stories and game recaps. He knew how to make people laugh and smile and to help ease the problems they faced by reminding them God has a plan for everyone. I remember being so sad when he left St. Theresas. I wish I had a chance to see him again before he left this Earth. I...

I was so very sorry to learn of Fr. Coakley's passing. He was such a wonderful priest and person, so kind and good. He truly exemplified the teachings of Jesus, and knowing him made me a better person. May he rest in the peace of God.
