Larry's father

I had the honor of meeting Larry, just once, on Veterans Day 2006. He visited me in my home so that I could return to him love letters that his father had written to my great-aunt. She kept them until her death in 1988. Until this past Christmas, Larry and I exchanged cards and notes at Christmas time. I had great affection for him, as did my family. We will miss him dearly.

I was fortunate to converse with Larry at a number of different discussion groups on science and religion, and I like to think of Larry as representing the heart of our discussion community. As such he will remain with us.

Larry will stay in my heart always. His wit, his intelligence, his kindness, his caring, his curiosity, and his total devotion to Mary, my long-time friend make him one of a kind. Knowing him made my life bigger. My husband, David, joins me in extending our sympathy to his family.

As a longtime participant of the Washington Theological Consortium's Science & Religion Faculty Discussion Group, I will truly miss Larry. His ideas on time and transcendence still echo with me and my wife, Marijka. He is a true credit to science and to his faith. Go with God!

As a charter member of our Washington Theological Consortium's Science & Religion Faculty Discussion Group, Larry is much missed. Requiescat in pacem!

I reconnected with Larry about 15 years ago, after a hiatus of several decades, and reestablished a warm friendship. My wife and I enjoyed many visits to the farm over the years, including a couple of memorable Thanksgiving dinners. Larry enjoyed music enormously, and my...

May the peace of God be with you.
