He was an active member of the Elks Club, a regular Lightening winner at Knights of Columbus, and was a devoted parishioner at St. Mary Catholic Church in DeKalb. He was loved by so many. Larry never walked into a place without knowing someone or without making a new friend. His house was the center of the party, a more than generous host is known for his ‘killer margarita’, smash burgers, and colorful storytelling. Larry was a skilled fisherman and hunter who knew all the secret spots. ‘Lucky Larry’ always knew when to hold them and when to fold them.
Larry is survived by his two children, Joseph and Amy (Matthew). Three grandchildren Paige, Finn, and Emma. He has 4 brothers, John (Diane), Richard (Diane), Donald (Karen), Gene (Bev), and his favorite sister Janette (Mark). He has 15 nieces and nephews and 26 great nieces and nephews. I waitressed and tended the "bar" at PV under Larry and John from 1987-1993. I hold many fond memories of my years there, and I can still hear Larry telling us waitresses, "Circulate, Magpies". He was a great boss and friend, and I'm beyond saddened to hear of his passing. Thoughts, prayers and condolences to the entire Finn family!

My sympathy goes out to Larry's family. He was a good friend. He always had something to say when I stopped by the Villa when I came to town from Florida. He was such a card and always seem to laugh and joke around.

I am deeply saddened by the news. Larry was my first boss back in 1990. He was fair and I enjoyed working for him. I will keep the family in my prayers and may the Lord bring the family peace and comfort at this time of sorrow.
