Collier’s Funeral Home - Saint Ann Obituary

Lawrence (Larry) Flores succumbed to a heart attack on April 11, 2022 at his home in Bridgeton, Missouri.  He was born on February 13, 1954 in Fort Bragg, North Carolina to Retired Sergeant Major Doroteo “Ted” Flores and Refugia “Cuca” Flores.

Larry met his beautiful bride of 49 years at a YMCA camp in Salina, Kansas after high school graduation.  Larry was a camp counselor and Jody was a horseback instructor.  Larry followed in his father’s footsteps by proudly serving in the United States Army.  During a long working career and volunteer activities in St. Louis, MO and Tulsa, OK, Larry found time to complete a Bachelor of Science degree from Southeast Missouri State University.

Larry touched the lives of so many.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle.  He volunteered as a soccer and baseball coach to his four kids.  Twenty years later he picked-up the whistle where he coached baseball and soccer for his grandchildren and friends of his grandchildren.  He also spent time as a Sunday school teacher, real estate investor, professional college student, camper/glamper, self-proclaimed political expert, and an obsessed (but not so great) golfer.

Larry is survived by his wife Jody Flores, sons Rich and Matt Flores, daughters Caitlin Kaufmann and Angela Walsh, mother Refugia “Cuca” Flores, sisters Rosemary Jensen and Cindy Ramirez, brother Mike Flores, sons-in-law Steve Kaufmann and Mike Walsh, daughters-in-law Jill and Jenny Flores, and grandchildren Gage Flores (18), Conner Kaufmann (13), Isa Flores (13), Jack Flores (13), Tori Flores (12), Chase Kaufmann (11), Olivia Walsh (10), Kinley Kaufmann (9), Dylan Flores (9), Ava Walsh (8), and Brendan Walsh (6).

Larry deeply loved and cherished his family.

Visitation will be held Monday April, 18 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Collier’s Funeral Home, 3400 North Lindbergh Boulevard St. Ann, MO  63044.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 19 at 11:00am at Arlington United Methodist Church, 3770 McKelvey Road Bridgeton, MO  63044.

Burial will be held following the service at 12:30pm at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Rd St. Louis, MO  63125.
