Jan 28, 1934 – Jan 20, 2009 (Age 74)
Larry Gordon, a resident of Albuquerque, died Tuesday, January 20, 2009. Larry was born in New Jersey in 1934. He attended University of Rhode Island and graduated from Boston University. Larry went into business with his father. They owned a textile mill in Rhode Island, Crown Cut Products. For more than 30 years, Larry ran the small textile business that manufactured box-related products for the jewelry industry. His true dream was to live in New Mexico. To be a cowboy in New Mexico was Larry's daily vision. In 1993, Larry's dream came true. With his new bride, Gerri, in tow, they relocated to the Land of Enchantment. A cowboy was born, a Jewish cowboy to boot! Larry Gordon loved his family very much, his wife, Gerri, sons, Robert and Jeffrey, daughters-in-law, Martha and Leslie; his precious grandchildren, Michael and Nathanael; his dear step-grandchildren, Madison, Alexis, Max; stepdaughter, Amy, and her husband, Richard; stepsons, Dean, Adam, and Michael. His passions for animals, his dogs and horses, ran deep. All of his pets were rescue animals. He saved so many of these animals. Volunteering was a part of Larry's life, too. He volunteered at the pound, Watermelon Ranch (a no-kill animal shelter), the Citizen Police Patrol and more. Gerri and Larry's love for each other was enhanced by their love of sharing a New Mexico sunset, the Sandias right in their backyard, and the deer that munched on their front lawn. Larry lovedddddddddddd green chili, a daily dose and the spicier the better! Larry Gordon was a Mensch, a good heart and a caring soul. Friends may remember Larry Gordon with contributions to Best Friends Animal Society, 5001 Angel Canyon Road, Kanab, UT, 84741 American Cancer Society, 10501 Montgomery Blvd. NE, Suite 300, 87111. Shiva will be observed at the Gordon residence, Thursday, January 22, 2009, 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 23, 2009, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Saturday, January 24, 2009, night after sundown.
