Larry was one year ahead of me at W-L, but I knew him well. I played string bass beside him my sophomore year, but he switched back to cello the next year. I ran track with him and remember practicing beside him in those grueling workouts, and handing the baton to him in the mile relay on multiple occasions. He was always happy and smiling--quick with a joke--a flirt with the girls. I respected his talent and his intelligence and the ease with which he made friends with almost everyone.
