Not sure what to say?

Becky,
I am so sorry to just now hear about Butch's passing. I read it in the yearbook of all places. I rarely go to Resurrection because the kids go to FCC, so unfortunately haven't seen you. I know you are a strong family of Faith and this will pull you through. I am sure Annie's graduation on Thursday will be bittersweet! If you just need someone to talk to call me: 760-745-3745.

My family and I met Butch through the Boy Scouts and through the Church of the Resurrection. I feel that three of Butch's best attributes were his incredible smile, his kind heart, and his selfless gift of service to his family, Scout troop and church community. He was a terrific role model for all the young men and women he came into contact with.

When our older son, Tyler, had his Eagle Scout Board of Review in 2006, Butch just happened to serve on his panel. Tyler was in a...

Dad, soo many memories of us hanging out on campouts, the long drives getting there and me being your co-pilot as the other scouts talked in the back. The late nights watching movies. The endless yardwork and other projects where I learned pretty much everything I know today.

Life really changed last year, in one word, scary. I know you are in Heaven walking with Jesus and helping him out.

I love you oh so much, you were the ideal father, you taught me everything I...

Butch is my oldest younger brother (3 years younger than I). Though our youngest brother, John, told everyone at the funeral meal that I was the "mean older sister," it was only because my mother gave me the responsibility to take care of my brothers and sister so my Dad would not be mad when he came home. Though they may have seen me as "mean" in the years when I was charged with the responsibility to make them behave, I have grown to love them very much over the years. Butch was the one...

I worked with Butch at Pyxis/CAH for many years, what a terrific person! He always, always had a big smile on his face. He will be missed by all, I am happy to have had the opportunity to know and work with him.

For 18 yrs, I had one prayer every night. "Bring us home to California where we can be near the people we love." May 29, 2007, Butch Hoffman hired me on as one of his engineers. For the first time in 18 years my family spent Thanksgiving surrounded by those we loved and grew up with. God's hand worked through this noble man to bring my family home and for that I'll always be grateful. Thanks Butch.

I met Butch at UND in 1980. We both were going for our BSME so we had a lot of Engineering classes together for 2 ½ years, and we slept through several as well. I remember he would wear bib overalls to class and Ace his tests after pulling an all-nighter. As fate sometimes happens we were both hired by General Dynamics Convair in San Diego and started on the same day in 1983. So we decided to rent an apt together and the next year several of us rented the Kensington Manor were Butch met...

In the past few (5) years that I came to know Butch through the Scouts I know that he has significantly influenced both my son Ian and I in our everyday lives. He had such a passion for life. There are many memories that I will cherish forever and will always remember him. I would dare to say even more than the smile I will remember his charactersitic laugh. Becky, Anthony, Annie, & Molly you are all in the Narcy's thoughts, hearts and prayers.
