Not sure what to say?

Hardly a day and the weeks pass that I miss our phone calls. A consoler for many, and healer for those in need. Larry, look down on us with love and tenderness as you did in life. RIP!

I remember when your Christmas card from the Vatican when you celebrated Mid-night Mass with the Pope. WOW. Yes, memories for sure, and hope you are celebrating another heavenly holiday too. Miss you buddy. Tom

Hard to believe that it has been one year now. Still miss our chats, laughs, you pastoral guidance, and much more. Each Scout event brings back our days for sure. Knowing full well, you are giving me that 'nudge'. Rest in Peace my friend, and keep 'heaven on the move' for sure. Tom

I knew Fr. Martello when he was a young priest at Holy Family in Parma. He helped me get through a rough time and for that I've always been thankful. I too knew the kind, loving, thoughtful, holy man who was so humble. Please know that your loss is also the loss of those who knew him. He truly was sent to us from God and what a blessing that is! May he rest in God's loving arms now and enjoy eternity knowing how much he was loved on earth.

Fr Martello- always attended many of our concerts & made me feel comfortable as a new teacher (choir director) at Lorain Catholic HS. Thank you for all the giggles when I was so serious! Prayers for his family !!

Dear Fr. Larry we go back to many years. I still remember teaching you as a public school kid, how to serve Mass. The Latin first, movement, and then getting vested for your 'FIRST MASS'. Eagle Scouts, Pope Pius XII Award, your installation as Pastor at St. Joseph's, and many more. Yesterday put a 'gut punch' in me of loss and much more. Give us all that familiar LARRY push for sure. Rest in Peace! :-(

I first met Fr. Larry as a freshman at Lorain Catholic High School in Lorain, OH. He was the school's priest. He talked to me several times, asked some questions to get me to open up. I guess he saw me as the quiet loner and decided to investigate. I graduated and joined the military, but, when I was on military leave visiting my parents, I would occasionally stop in at my old school to update a few of my old teachers and Fr. Larry of what was new. Later on, he became the priest over my...

Dear Fr. Larry, 48 years ago we were married, you witnessed our vows and believed in our love. 48 years of friendship, always just a phone call away. You baptized our children, listened to our troubles, offered counsel and prayers, and shared our happy times. You always had time for us. You celebrated our 25th anniversary with us and we celebrated with you 25 years of priesthood. Because of you we know who God is. Thank you for a lifetime of friendship and sharing your priesthood with us. A...

Fr Larry married us in 1987. We just celebrated our 36th wedding anniversary! Such a kind man. May he Rest In Peace.
