Tom was a good friend and a good husband to my mother, Darleen, for more than thirty-five years. I will dearly miss our monthly breakfasts (usually at Denny's, his preferred destination), where he and I discussed the issues of the day. I was lucky enough to call Tom "Grandpa" nearly my whole life, as he married to my grandmother Darlene "Dar" Martin since I was a small child. I remember his bushy mustache and his wry smile. I remember Seattle sailboat rides, beautiful sunsets at his Arizona home, and a long ago RV trip where he let me ride in the bunk above the driver's seat, laughing as he'd bat away my hands fluffing his hair as he barreled down the road, Grandma Dar by his side. Tom was a sweet and funny man that I very much enjoyed in our daily life here at Vineyard Place. He will be a much missed and valued part of our community.
