Larry approached me in the halls of Topeka High School in 1956, our mutual senior year. "I believe we are related. We should get together sometime and talk," is what he suggested. My own mother had mentioned the Middaugh name occasionally, but this was in reference to history that predated my own, so I didn't respond. I will always have fond memories of Larry in his IOP basement lab where he helped so many of us get started and progress in our research.
