Not sure what to say?

I grew up with Tim..best pals and Mr Nelson was right there beside my father clint with men I looked up to and was in awe of. He had a perfect blend of kindness and Intelligence that balanced out just right somehow. Larry had this calm brilliance that he kept even surrounded by the chaotic madness of children that were in a frenzy. See you on the other side Mr Nelson..LOVE KEEFER

Larry was a great neighbor. He fixed chairs, let us plant a garden, and was always there with a smile for a bit of a chat. We just learned of his passing and we will miss him every day when we drive past the shop.

All our love, the Hicks Family

May we take a moment and bow our heads and pray. If you don't pray, then just hear me out. An amazing guy died, his name is Larry Nelson. Celeste Wiggins I am so sorry this happened to you. Larry was an amazing guy. He's up in heaven (whatever religious place you believe in) playing cards with God (still whatever you believe in). Also Larry is alive and well in your heart, mind and soul. He will always be there in your mind to make good decisions. He will be there in your heart showing his...

Thanks, Larry. I respected you as an English teacher and a gentleman. I survived the trips riding on the floor of George Roby's van to/from school when you rode along. I read many of the books which I saw you carrying along for pleasure reading, back in '73 - '75. You were the best English teacher that I had, at the Upper School. I appreciated most that you were a kind man. Thanks, Larry.

Larry was a loyal and generous spirit. He touched the lives of many students and faculty at Hawken. May his spirit live on in those who knew him.

My thoughts are with Celeste, his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother, sister and extended family. He cared deeply about all of you. I will hold deep in my heart all the wonderful 25 years I've known Larry and worked with him at The Chair Shop. He taught many students and years later they or their parents would visit the shop asking about Larry expressing very fond memories. Larry taught me the love of chairs and how to weave. I will miss his smile and laugh, kindness,...

Mr. Nelson will be missed. He truly inspired me and fueled my love of reading. My condolences to his family.

I think the thing I will miss most about my Uncle Larry is the sound of his voice. I was always awestruck as he told us stories. The soothing sound of his voice was one of a kind, just like the man himself!
