Lawrence Phillips Jr.

Lawrence R. Phillips Jr., 73, died Friday evening in Baystate Medical Center. Larry was born in Springfield and has lived in West Springfield most of his life. He was a retired heavy equipment mechanic for the Robert Baker Company and was a member of the American Legion Post #207. He leaves his wife Suzette (Warren) Phillips; a son Lawrence R. Phillips III and his wife Laurie; eleven grandchildren Lawrence Phillips IV, Bobbie, Destinie, Joseph, Autumn, Tyler Phillips, William Scafuri, Katie and Amanda O’Brien, Brittany Beaumier, Brianna Yacubeck and seven great grandchildren. Lawrence was predeceased by a daughter Yvette Scafuri, son Michael Phillips and sister Barbara Matus. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. The West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home is handling all arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Hospital.
