Not sure what to say?

Dr Pickett surgically corrected my constricted aorta in 1959. I was 10. I had been told I would not see 15 without the surgery. I am now 76 and thankful for the skill of Dr. Pickett.

I'll never forget Dr. Pickett for his nice bedside manner and his surgical expertise when I incurred, at age 12 in Syracuse, a serious injury to my dominant right arm at the elbow, with a complete severing of the ulnar nerve and much associated local injury. Though I never completely recovered, I regained sufficient function to resume playing the piano and spent 40+ years on the accordion, 20 of which leading a band. I credit and thank Dr. Pickett for my improvement and recovery.

I was born in 1938 with a condition known as a “Blue Baby” with doctors telling my parents not to expect me to live past age 5. I was still alive when Dr. Pickett came to Syracuse, NY to start his Pediatric surgery practice. It became known that he had studied the Blalock-Tausug shunt procedure at Johns Hopkins and my parents took me to meet him. At that point I was 13 years old and weighed 56 pounds. Dr. Pickett noted that I was in failing health, and that he would do his best to try to help...

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always.

He saved my R ulnar nerve in 1958 in Syracuse....

Polly - Corrected entry: Sally and I fondly remember you both. You will have great memories of your life together to sustain you in the years ahead.

In October 1958 Larry Pickett and Bob King operated successfully on our 3-year-old David when his grandmothers car had come to rest on his chest and head. We surmise that David and Peter may have loosened the hand brake. Neighbor Dr. Chester Clark helped me lift the car off him and drove David and me to the hospital. Fortunately...

May you find comfort knowing others care. He and his family will be in my prayers. Sincerely, MaryEllen LaGrou At age 2, I was a patient of Dr. L. K. Pickett Sr. That was in 1958. My maiden name was Kimball. He saved my left arm from amputation, to which I am ever so grateful. I do remember him as being a very kind and gentle man.

Dr. Pickett was my doctor and surgeon from the time I was 7 years old until he left for Yale University. He operated on me when I was 9 years old. The surgery he performed was an ileal conduit, which I needed due to my disability, spina bifida. He called my stoma a rosebud. My father always marveled that a man with such big hands could do such delicate surgery on his little girl.
Dr. Pickett and I stayed in touch through my formative years. I still have a letter that he sent when he...

Dr. Larry Pickett was a resident at Peter Bent Brigham Hospital , Boston when I was a student. He will always be remembered fondly for he was always willing to help, to teach and make life more pleasant for the students. I had an opportunity to see him in Syracuse when he was visiting with Dr. Eugene Hickey, the Oral Surgeon, who was my "boss" at the time. He is probably the one resident no one will forget. He was a great presence in the medical field. SBH
