I'm sorry to hear about Laurie's passing. He was kind, funny, intelligent, a mentor and a friend. I am a better person for having known him.

Sending our condolences. It was a great pleasure to know you. -On behalf of Dr. Irene Litvan and her team

On behalf of the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Waterloo, we are very sorry to hear about the loss of Dr. Laurie Rogers. Our deepest condolences to the entire Rogers family.

Laurie had a twinkle in his eye and a great sense of humor. He was always encouraging and kind. I was fortunate to join he and Joy on their sailboat, Freelance, on two separate occasions in the Caribbean; two very special vacations that I remember fondly. It was a privilege to know him.

Love to the family.

Laurie brought me to San Diego many years ago as a fledgling engineer. He was generous in all things: mentorship, including me in his circle of family and friends, even allowing me a wonderful sojourn to France (I considered a boondoogle at the time, but turned out having the greatest value for me). I was lucky, that he called me for an interview 43 years ago; that he called me friend.

We were so fortunate to have known Laurie for so many years. He made a difference to all that knew him. In a world with so many negative stories, it is reassuring to have known someone like Laurie who shared so many of his good qualities with everyone.

Dear Family ,
What a beautiful tribute to Laurie . He did live a full wonderful life . His life was one of intellectual curiosity, adventure, love of family, humor, and Joy. He will be missed . Love , Arline and David Paa
